The Poet and the Con (1999)
Family, Crime, Morality And Redemption - With Poetry The Poet and the Con examines the inexplicable familial bond between a starving artist and a life long criminal. Together, nephew Eric Trules and uncle, Harvey Rosenburg question society, morality, and the often frowned upon roads they each traveled to come thus far. Ironically, it is only when Harvey decides to look to the future that the past comes crashing down on him and everyone he loves. The Poet and the Con is Trules' first documentary feature and a jolting reminder that redemption only equals freedom, after you've laid it all down.
